I love Thai food! Pad thai, dumplings and often I love it spicy. But mention Thai food to my 4 year old and he gives me the look of ‘what are you thinking! I am not eating that’ Well, last night we were out and about and mentioned how starving I was. Thai food was mentioned and I said good idea. But worry came across my mind, what will my oldest eat? Will he throw a tantrum? My youngest is no problem, he loves noodles so we knew he was set. So my counter part went on urban spoon ( a lovely application on the iPhone!) and found an amazing place in Sterling, VA. It is called Thai by Thai. The first thing you see is the menu, which has the usual Thai fair, Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles and Pad ew-sew. But then you flip to the back and there it was the kids menu. Now usually kids menu have the typical mac and cheese and nuggets. This one did but with a twist.

Their Thai mac looked good, it has no cheese but is made with carrots and bacon. So we ordered and held our breath. My 4 year old received his plate of food, his eyes grew with delight as he uttered “mac and cheese!” little did he know…there was no cheese. He began to dig in! Before we knew it, he ate half the plate, macaroni,bacon AND carrots. He enjoyed it!! Yay! Thai food can be enjoyed once again!

Their kids menu also has thai nuggets and you can order plain noodles as well. My youngest engulfed their delicious dumplings, which come 5 to a plate. The restaurant offers kid size drinks and is clean.

If you want to make the drive out to sterling, it is worth the trip. So if you are in the mood for thai food, I highly recommend Thai by Thai out in Sterling, VA off of the Harry Byrd Hwy, behind the Ihop. And check out Urban Spoon for reviews.
